Different shops. Same industry.

Owners, operators, and the people who work for them. If you make a living around cars, you belong here. The common thread isn't liking cars. It's building a real business in this industry.

Owner / Independent repair

Anyone switch from paper ROs to a shop management system mid-year? How bad was it, honestly?

Service advisor / 3-bay shop

We did it in March. Two rough weeks. Run both side by side for the first few days.

Your quote is the first sales call.

Most shops treat quoting as admin. The customer reads it as proof of how you'll handle their car.

Founder / Aftermarket parts brand

Freight went up again. Anyone found a carrier setup that works for heavy, oversized parts?

Ops / Wheel & tire distributor

Worth asking for a dimensional-weight review. Ours was billing us on the wrong class.

Most shops don't have a lead problem. They have a follow-up problem.

Not coming at it from the outside.

RJ HinkenFounder / TAC

I'm RJ Hinken. I came up in the trade on the detail and body shop side, then moved to the business side: more than ten years in automotive ecommerce, Google Shopping, Amazon, social, and brand, including running digital for Titan Wheel Accessories and BSB USA. I also built Our Speedways, a short-track racing page with over 100,000 followers.

Today I run Speedyellow, where I build websites and the systems behind them for automotive businesses. Working inside other people's businesses, the same problems keep coming up: leads that go quiet, quotes nobody follows up on, good shops that are hard to find. And usually someone else in the industry has already figured it out.

That's why TAC exists: to put that knowledge in one room, with the people actually doing the work. Speedyellow stays out of the way here. The group is worth being in whether you ever work with me or not.
